Global Growth with a Comprehensive Data Platform in Skincare

Integrating Advanced Data Models for Enhanced Business Insights and Operations

We collaborated with DHC Corporation to develop a robust data platform that centralized data sources into a data warehouse, implemented an RFM model for actionable insights, and utilized modern data visualization, leading to improved data governance, enhanced marketing strategies, and a data-driven culture within DHC.

“For the first time, we were able to view sales and marketing performance through a single source of truth, independently, discovering insights that mattered to us. Working with Joon Solutions and Google Cloud has been a dream. Their continuous support is unmatched, and they are incredibly friendly, they were like an extension of our team.”
– Linh, Director of Marketing, DHC

DHC Corporation, Japan’s leading direct skincare company, partnered with Joon Solutions to build a data platform on GCP. This project aimed to support DHC’s business growth globally by centralizing data collection and creating various data models to derive actionable insights.

Challenge

DHC faced the challenge of collecting and centralizing data from diverse sources to support their global business expansion. They required a data platform that could handle multiple data models, including an RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary value) model, to generate actionable insights from disparate data sources.

Solution

Joon Solutions built DHC’s infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring multi-layer security and granular data access. We centralized product lifetime data and invoicing data in a Google BigQuery data warehouse and created an RFM model to define recency, frequency, and monetary value. For data sharing and exploration, we developed dashboards using Holistics, and ad hoc visualizations were carried out using Google Data Studio.

Results

The migration to Google Cloud Platform enhanced DHC’s infrastructure security, flexibility, and scalability. BigQuery’s granular data access improved data governance across the company. The unified data models facilitated advanced analytics, comprehensive reports, and effective marketing campaigns, providing DHC with actionable insights. Google Data Studio empowered the team to explore data independently, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

DHC Corporation is Japan’s No. 1 direct skincare company, renowned for its extensive research and development. The company tailors and expands its product line to meet the specific preferences and needs of its customers, ensuring a personalized skincare experience.
